Somatic Healing Through Dance, Movement, & Performance
Guided somatic experiences & dance therapy that turns raw emotion into dance performances that awaken the audience.
When we cannot express in words, we move.
At Barel Movement, dance emerges naturally from the body, unplanned, pure, and deeply human. Each gesture carries its own language: sometimes a release, sometimes protest, sometimes gratitude. When we create space for this truth to rise, movement becomes both personal and universal, a reminder of our shared humanity. Dancing together becomes a celebration of unity and the power of what cannot be put into words.
The Barel Movement shares transformative dance works on stages nationwide, where audiences don’t just watch; they feel and transform. Each production is created from authentic, spontaneous movements improvised in therapy sessions, then shaped into performances that awaken something universal.
Our longing is to bring liberation; to free fears and past wounds, so we may travel lighter. When we awaken awareness, our deepest gifts rise, and balance unfolds.
TEDx (2025) A performance that revealed how dance can embody what words cannot.
Under The Moon (2025 – Current) An exploration of liberation, healing past wounds, and finding balance through movement.
Cul de Sac (2020) Created in response to the isolation of COVID-19, this performance brought movement directly to the people. Cul de Sac transformed neighborhood streets into stages, offering connection and healing when gathering indoors was impossible.
Perah (2013) From the Hebrew word for flower, Perah explores the deep pain and resilience it takes to blossom. Through raw movement and emotional release, the dance performance reveals how growth often emerges only after struggle; a reflection of the human journey to bloom despite all we endure.
Five Stories (2011) The story of five women’s struggles, resilience, and shared humanity. Five Stories weaves together past and present experiences to reveal the common thread that binds us all.
